Adopt a Teen Program connects caring community members, businesses, and organizations with youth ages 14–17 in the Pathway to Heroes mentorship program.
By “adopting” a teen, you provide direct support that helps them thrive — funding their transportation, uniforms, educational materials, personal development, and participation in safe, positive activities.
Your sponsorship plays a vital role in preventing gang involvement, substance abuse, and other high-risk behaviors by ensuring each teen has the tools, opportunities, and encouragement to succeed. How It Works
- Sponsor Commitment:
- Individuals, businesses, or organizations commit to a monthly sponsorship of $50–$200 or a one-time annual contribution.
- Sponsors may choose to remain anonymous or receive updates about their sponsored teen’s progress.
- Use of Funds:
- All sponsorship funds go toward program-related expenses for the teen, such as:
- Transportation costs
- Program shirts & uniforms
- School supplies & educational materials
- Field trip & activity fees
- Meals & snacks during program hours
- Personal development needs (haircuts, hygiene items, etc.)
- Transparency:
- Sponsors receive quarterly updates, including photos (with parental consent) and progress reports.3. Teen Eligibility
- Must be enrolled in the Pathway to Heroes program.
- Must meet attendance and behavior expectations.
- Must have parental/guardian consent to participate in sponsorship updates.
4. Sponsor Benefits
- A personalized thank-you packet from the program.
- Quarterly updates on the teen’s progress and milestones.
- Recognition on the Pathway to Heroes website and social media (optional).
- Tax-deductible contribution receipt (as applicable under IRS nonprofit rules).
5. Program Rules
- Sponsorship is financial only — no unsupervised contact between sponsors and teens.
- All communication between sponsors and teens is facilitated by Pathway to Heroes staff.
- Sponsorship funds cannot be withdrawn by the teen or family; they are managed by the program for approved needs only.
